The Adventures of Ace: Filing to Recipients

It’s been a while since we last caught up with Ace, our local (and first ever) e-filing superhero, mostly because he’s been “incredibly busy” playing with his new time machine.

Having travelled far and wide with Trucker B, and now to the past and future with a new sidekick, Doc, Ace is confident he can return to the taxpayers of America with all the information they need regarding the Affordable Care Act forms.

Okay, so Ace’s methods may be a little out there, but at least his knowledge is sound. Although, he does say the same thing about Doc…

“I know, I know, of all the things to talk about now, why those?” Ace continues. “Well, as you probably don’t know, there are consequences to non-irradiated minds knowing EVERYTHING, so I’ll have to share this knowledge with you in bits and pieces.”

Ace continues his announcement by saying that all filers of Form 1095-B or Form 1095-C must send a copy of these forms to their health insurance recipients as well as to the IRS. Their employees or insurance clients need these forms to complete their federal tax return.

“In the future,” Ace says with a new fervor, “these Forms 1095-B and 1095-C will be due to your recipients at the same time as their 1099s and W-2s, which is the last day of January. But for the 2015 tax year,

“Oh, and for those of you also filing 1099s and W-2s,” Ace adds, “these forms’ due dates have not changed. The recipient copies are still due by February 1, 2016 -- my powers of perception tell me that January 31 will be a Sunday this year. Check out our friends at ExpressIRSForms to e-file those.”

Happy holidays from ExpressACAForms! However you celebrate this season, we hope your time is filled with comfort and joy in the company of friends and family.

We’ve been over a lot in preparation for the upcoming ACA filing, but for the next few days, we invite you to take a break from all that. Mainly because we are! Ace and his sidekicks will be taking today (12/24) and tomorrow (12/25) off for the holidays, so phone and chat support will be unavailable until Monday (12/28) at 9 a.m. EST.

Introducing ACE: The World's First E-Filing Superhero!

“Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird, it’s a plane! No...wait, it’s a guy in an orange cape? Oh and his cape snagged on a tree. Yep, he’s down. You see, that’s why capes just aren’t practical.

Ahh that sounds like Ace, the world’s first e-filing superhero. Ace no longer wears a cape, but he does still fly around, helping wherever he can.

No one’s really sure where Ace came from. He just sort of appeared one day. According to his YouTube channel, he was born in a lab, created by scientists “Frankenstein-style.” It was here that he was exposed to high levels of radiation and C-SPAN videos about the Affordable Care Act, somehow giving him the abilities of flight, super-strength, and infinite knowledge about the ACA.

Ace has vowed never to rest until his arch nemesis, Confusion, is defeated once and for all so that ACA forms may be e-filed in peace and harmony. While she apparently has yet to be defeated, no one other than Ace seems to have ever seen her. He just kind of appears, answers questions people have, and abruptly leaves to continue to “fight the good fight” against her.

Ace doesn’t have a utility belt, but he considers his most important tools for fighting Confusion to be his “super awesome brain” and ExpressACAForms.com. When he’s not dropping in (sometimes quite literally) and answering questions about the ACA forms themselves, he regales the city with tales of the ease and speed of e-filing with ExpressACAForms.

“They’ve made the questions easy to understand and provide help text for every step of the way,” Ace said in his most recent address to the public. “And my sidekicks in Rock Hill, South Carolina - where ExpressACAForms is based - are every bit as helpful and knowledgeable as I am! Maybe even more so, as I’ve equipped the fish guarding their office with psychic Confusion-fighting abilities!” Ironically, his last statement that day did cause a bit of confusion in the crowd, which Ace was then quick to clear up.

So he’s not exactly Superman. Okay, okay, he barely beats out Hindsight Lad as far as superpowers go, but he’s trying his best. Plus he refuses to leave until Confusion is gone forever, so we may have to get used to seeing him around. But, hey, at least he does everything with a smile.
